In Genesis we find the following Blueprint for Good Health: Pure air, Sunlight, Temperance, Rest, Exercise, Proper Diet, Water, and Trust in God.

Pure Air
Air must be in constant circulation to be kept pure. Pure, fresh air causes the blood to circulate healthfully through the body. It refreshes the body and makes it strong and healthy. While causing you to relax and feel more at peace.

What are the benefits of fresh air:

  • It helps you sleep better
  • Increases energy and mental alertness
  • Relieves anxiety

Let fresh air flow through your home by cracking the windows at least one inch. Plants may also be used to help purify the air.

Sunlight is one of the greatest blessings given to us by God. Sunlight is responsible for Vitamin D production which is critical to our health.

Sunlight benefits include:

  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Decreases blood cholesterol
  • Lowers blood sugars
  • Increases white blood cells
  • Reduces stress

Over a million people per year die from lack of sun exposure. Diseases linked to sunlight deficiency include autoimmune disorders, lupus, arthritis, depression, diabetes, heart disease, rickets, jaundice, multiple sclerosis (MS), poor blood circulation, cancer, hormone related problems, cholesterol, and high blood pressure.

Work, eat, and sleep in moderation. Paul, counsels us to be “temperate in all things” (1 Corinthians 9:25). This means we should avoid that which is harmful; and many of those things which are good, should be used in moderation.

Regularity in daily routines (sleep, exercise, meals,
worship, work etc) will greatly aid in keeping you in the best health.

Make REST a priority. The “go, go attitude,” so common to our society, leads many to nervous breakdowns.

Make it a habit to go to sleep by 10 PM. After conducting hundreds of experiments on sleep and health, the world’s leading scientists have discovered for optimum health, the best hours of sleep are between 10 PM and 6 AM. That is when the human body is designed to be at a state of rest, repair, rejuvenation, and elimination of waste products and toxins.

Lack of exercise may be as deadly as smoking, according to a study published in The Lancet.

Exercise will improve:

  • Digestion
  • Sleep
  • Difficult and painful menstruation
  • Overall condition of your body, especially the lungs, heart, blood vessels, and endocrine system
  • Your mind and your ability to handle stress

Proper Diet
Fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, and seeds are the most healthful and nourishing. They provide more antioxidants, nutrients, vitamins, minerals, fiber and no damaging fat. They are key in preventing and reversing: Cardiovascular Disease, Hypertension, Cancer, Gastrointestinal Diseases, Eye Diseases, Depression, Mental Decline, Hormone Imbalance, Inflammation and other Disorders.

Sip on water throughout the day. When your urine is pale, you'll know that you are drinking enough water.

Trust in God
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention up to 90% of all doctor visits in the United States are for stress-related illnesses. Do not worry or stress over life’s challenges, but pray and claim God’s promises.

Philippeans 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Be careful for nothing means to not be troubled with cares or not to seek to promote one's interest. But to cast your cares upon God because He cares for you. He wants us to rest in His love and trust Him completely. The Lord will more than fulfill the highest expectations of those who put their trust in Him.

"When we really believe that God loves us and means to do us good we shall cease to worry about the future. We shall trust God as a child trusts a loving parent. Then our troubles and torments will disappear, for our will is swallowed up in the will of God. Christ has given us no promise of help in bearing today the burdens of tomorrow. He has said, “My grace is sufficient for thee” (2 Corinthians 12:9); but, like the manna given in the wilderness, His grace is bestowed daily, for the day’s need. Like the hosts of Israel in their pilgrim life, we may find morning by morning the bread of heaven for the day’s supply" (Mount of Blessing 101).
