As the weather dropped, I wanted to hibernate and I refused to exercise outside. Can you relate? Then it snowed. I wanted to stay cozy inside, but had to bundle up and join my family for some snowy fun. To my surprise, it wasn’t as cold as I’d imagined! Yes, I was layered up, but we had so much fun playing in the snow that I actually got hot. And you know what? Since then, I’ve even started doing brisk walks outside—and I’ve learned that layering up is the key to staying warm.
The truth is cold weather doesn’t shut down the need to stay active. And if you’re serious about lasting weight loss (and feeling AMAZING), hibernating isn’t an option.
But let’s be real, some days it’s just too cold or icy to go outside. That’s why I’ve put together a list of indoor workout solutions to help you stay active no matter the weather:
1. Rebounding
A rebounder (mini trampoline) is perfect for low-impact, joint-friendly cardio. It’s fun, effective, and easy to do in small spaces. Plus, bouncing for just 10–15 minutes can boost circulation, improve lymphatic drainage, and lift your mood. Rebounding has been a few of my clients new favorite winter activity.
2. Bodyweight Workouts
Exercises like squats, lunges, push-ups, and planks are great for building strength and endurance. You don’t need equipment or much space—just a little motivation!
3. Online Workouts
With so many incredible workout videos available online, there’s something for everyone, no matter your fitness level or goals. This is my go to when I don’t want to go outside.
5. Stairs and Hallways
Got stairs? Use them for walking or running intervals. Hallways can be a great spot for lunges or even short bursts of jogging.
6. Resistance Bands or Dumbbells
These are fantastic tools for strength training at home. Resistance bands, in particular, are lightweight, affordable, and super versatile.
With these indoor options, you can stay active, energized, and consistent—even on the chilliest days.
Stay warm and keep moving!
